Purpose

To ensure that the organization is presented in an accurate, tasteful, and consistent manner.

Policy

The primary purpose of publicity is to recruit program participants and to raise funds. The primary purpose of public relations activities is to promote the public image of Ski for Light and its corporate sponsors. SFL publicity and public relations materials and activities must present the organization in an accurate and consistent manner. The SFL president must ensure that all materials intended for distribution to the public or to segments of the SFL community are reviewed by knowledgeable individuals for factual and historical accuracy and for proper grammar and style. These include recruitment materials, press releases, SFL Bulletin, SFL brochures, letters to Sons of Norway lodges, SFL Program Journal and annual report, sponsorship packet, SFL web site, videos, etc. The Publicity and Public Relations committee, with the approval of the SFL President or designee will provide overall guidance in materials to the recruitment committees and the fundraising committee to assist them in pursuing their goals.
