2008 Ski for Light International Week

If you would like to attend all or part of the 2008 Ski for Light International Week as a non-skiing volunteer (worker bee), companion or guest, and wish to stay at the Riverhouse with the SFL group, please complete all questions on the form below and submit the application form as indicated. Please be aware that acceptance to the event as a companion or guest is not automatic, as it depends on the amount of available space in the event hotel. Companions and guests will be notified of their status on or about November 1st.

If you live in Bend and would like to help as a Local Volunteer during all or a portion of the week, please complete only questions 1-3 and 10 before submitting the form. Local Volunteer Coordinator Val Keever will contact you about specifics before the event starts.

No hotel room is needed
Single-occupancy, in a standard hotel room with one king or two queen beds, $1,150.
Double-occupancy, in a standard hotel room with one king or two queen beds, $775 per person
Triple-occupancy, in a one-bedroom family suite, with two queen beds and one pulldown Murphy queen bed, and kitchen (only nine such rooms available, first-come, first-served), $775 per person

NOTE: Double- and Triple-Occupancy may not be available if you are staying less than the full week. Full payment is due by December 17, 2007.

8. SFL strives to provide a healthy, balanced diet that is high in complex carbohydrates derived from fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and dairy products and low in fat. Which of the two available meal options would be your preference?
Standard - includes red meat and poultry.
Pescatarian - includes eggs, dairy products and fish as well as other sources of protein (legumes and soy) but no red meat/poultry.

NOTE: For special dietary requirements, you will need to provide your own supplements.

10. During the SFL week, help is needed in a number of different areas, as listed below. Please indicate which of these you would be willing to help with during the week.
Meet and assist arriving event participants at the Bend airport (Feb 7-10)
Help move equipment and supplies from storage locations in Bend to the hotel (Feb 9)
Help with set-up and repair of MIP equipment (Feb 9-10)
Help get luggage from arriving busses to hotel rooms (Feb 10)
Orient participants to the hotel (Feb 10)
Serve as a greeter at the doors of the dining room (6:15 each evening, Feb 10-16)
Assist shoppers in the SFL sales room (various hours, Feb 10-16)
Assist in the SFL information room (various hours, Feb 10-16)
Serve as a starter for the bus to/from the ski area (morning or afternoon, Feb 11-16)
Assist ill/injured participants staying at the hotel with lunch (Feb 11-16)
Walk and relieve guide dogs mid-day at the hotel, while participants are away at the ski area (Feb 11-16)
Serve as a stand-by emergency driver, with your car, for ill or slightly injured skiers at the ski area (10:30 to 2:00, Feb 11-16)
Assist shoppers during the Silent Auction (5:00 to 8:00, Feb 13)
Serve as a marshall at the race/rally (10:00 to 1:00, Feb 16)
Help move equipment and supplies from the hotel to storage locations in Bend (Feb 16-17)
Help get luggage from hotel rooms to the departing busses (Feb 17)
Assist departing attendees at the Bend airport (Feb 17)
