For the purposes of this planning manual, the following terms are defined as:
Applications Coordinators: Those who coordinate the applications process for the mobility-impaired participants, visually-impaired participants, instructor/guides and Other Attendees.
Master Bill: A record of all room, meal, and other charges which Ski for Light will pay to the hotel at the end of the event.
Planning Meeting: A weekend of planning activities held during September or October usually at the site of the upcoming event for the purpose of reviewing the facility and coordinating aspects of the program that vary from year to year.
Pre-event days: Thursday-Sunday prior to the start of the SFL week.
Program Journal: A booklet containing articles, photographs, and advertising that serves as the week's program schedule.
Ridderrenn: A Norwegian event similar to Ski for Light. The Ridderrenn began in 1964 and was the inspiration for Ski for Light.
Sunrise Meeting: An early morning meeting held throughout the SFL week attended by the planning committee members most central to the operations of the week.
Wrap-up Meeting: A weekend meeting held after an event for the purpose of reviewing the week and identifying aspects which could be refined in future planning. This meeting is not always deemed necessary. The SFL President will determine if it is to be held.
