Ski for Light International Week 2005

Each year Ski for Light Inc., an all-volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1975, conducts a week-long International Event. The primary goal of the program is for adults with visual- or mobility-impairments, working in concert with volunteer Instructor/Guides, to learn the sport of cross-country skiing. The week usually attracts 100 or more people who are blind/visually-impaired, 8 to 10 people who are mobility-impaired, 110 or more sighted instructor guides, and delegations from Norway and other foreign countries.

The 2005 Ski for Light International Week will be held in Granby, Colorado, from Sunday, January 30th through Sunday, February 6th, 2005.

Participants will stay at the Inn at Silver Creek. The inn is a large, comfortable, resort with heated indoor/outdoor pool, both indoor and outdoor hot-tubs, and several shops and restaurants.

Skiing will take place each day at Snow mountain Ranch. Snow Mountain Ranch, the YMCA of the Rockies www.ymcarockies.org, is one of the premier cross-country centers in the United States, with over 90 kilometers of packed and groomed trails, and a large ski chalet.
